Kutkuttaja

or its English name Tickler is a stop-motion short film that came out in 2025. It was made as a part of stop-motion course in Turku University of Applied Sciences. This time I had opportunity to be in charge for films visual storytelling.

I designed characters, backgrounds and props. It was great experience to interpret script and design visuals to fit it.

My other work was also animation, puppet fabrication (mainly the hearth shaped person), clothing construction, prop and background construction and lighting.

Peek Behind the Scenes

It was valuable experience to design characters and world around the to pre existing script. My goal was to convey scripts surrealist nature and whimsy through visual storytelling.

First sketches of the characters. They were more human like at first. Changes were made to make them less child like and more symbolic. Snail stayed pretty much the same.

The design of the fantasy dimension was inspires by the surrealist art. It was made to contrast a mundane and desaturated office environment.
